Walking on Golf Course Rules and Procedures
Community members can now walk on the golf course at designated hours. Walker’s can pick up their complimentary annual use tag from the Pro Shop and must have it visible at all times when walking. Replacement tags are $5. For this to be successful and continue, it will be necessary for walkers and golfers to follow some commonsense rules.

On weeks where Monday is an odd number, the front nine will be used for walking and the back nine for golf. Even number Mondays, the back nine will be for walking and the front for golfing.
Any violations to the above rules will receive a warning on first notice. If this violation is not remedied or an additional rule violation occurs, there will be a second notice. The second notice will describe the violation and any fines or penalties imposed in accordance with the WEG SOP- Schedule of Fines.
I have read and agreed to the above Rules for walking on the golf course.
I understand that the primary use of the Golf Course is for the play of Golf and the activities and tournaments will have priority. The decision to close the course, including cart paths, for either group is at the discretion of the Management and must be respected by all.
I understand I will be held accountable for any violations and could be fined and lose my privileges for walking on the course.
FAQs:
Q: How do I obtain a walking lanyard? A: When you pay your HOA fees at the office, fill out a request form for a walking lanyard. You will be notified when it is ready to pick up at the Pro Shop.
Q: I have a walking lanyard from last year. Do I have to replace it? A: When you pay your HOA fees at the office, request a 2024 sticker and a new ‘back sheet’ which will give you the sign-in QR code. Add these things to your current lanyard and you are good to go.
Q: Why do I have to sign-in when walking? A: All of the common areas have sign-in registry books. This data shows how many people participate in each activity. There is an advantage to show the interest for each area. If there is a lot of interest, then policies can be made to support it. There is a physical sign-in book in the golf lounge for walkers to sign in; it is right beside the book where golfers are asked to sign-in when golfing.
Q: Why should I use the sign-in QR code on the badge? A: This is for your convenience only. It saves having to go to the Golf lounge to sign in. You can start your walk anywhere along the course and sign in by scanning the QR code with your phone. However, the paper copy is available to you if you prefer.
Q: Does the QR sign-in track my walk? A: It does not track you in any way. It simply creates a simple log-in sheet which, combined with the paper sign-in form, will show how many folks are walking, what hours, which section of the course is most popular, if they are walking with dogs, and or guests. This will help guide future decisions about how to expand or reduce the walking program.
Q: Where is this data stored? A: The lanyards are created using the Microsoft Access program and information in it is stored on the HOA servers along with all member information. The sign-in form goes into a Google spreadsheet which is maintained by the ProShop account.
Q: What is a QR code and how does it work? A: The QR code does not download anything on your phone. By using the camera on the phone, you can take a scan of the information (not a picture) and reveal its content. The front side of the walking badge has a QR code with your name, member ID and emergency contact. It would allow any emergency responders to know who to call if you needed help. The back side of the lanyard has QR code that links to the sign-in page. There is nothing stored on your phone itself.
